I got this sharpener a week ago, my knives get dull quickly because of how much I used them. I got this knife sharpener and I liked the fact that it has two different sharpeners in one. One for sharpening the knives often, the other for if your knives have gotten completely dull. I tried out both sides with different knives, and both worked wonderfully, my knives were good as new. But I don't suggest using it too roughly if your knife is painted, like my pairing knife is, some paint scratched off but I cleaned the knife afterwards so it was fine.
